| Since
March 19, 1984, Hospice of Central Connecticut, formerly Hospice
of Greater New Britain, has served over 2,500 families ... helping
them face the physical, social and spiritual problems related to
a terminal illness. In addition to the specialized professional
care available, Hospice of Central Connecticut has provided:
- Over
2,000 volunteer hours annually to maintain quality of life for
hospice families.
- Bereavement
support to the community for up to a year following the death
of a loved one.
- Community
and professional education to increase the awareness of hospice
services and to provide current information on related issues.
- Essential
nonreimbursable services and supplemental payment of medical supplies
through the Friends of Hospice fund.
The
Friends of Hospice Fund was established in 1984 to support the work
of Hospice of Central Connecticut. Funds are utilized to insure
services to families which may otherwise be unavailable, to provide
startup funds for new and expanded services, to create an endowment
fund for future needs, to provide educational opportunities for
the community, staff and volunteers. All
contributions are gratefully acknowledged. Your contribution to
Hospice of Central Connecticut may be made in the following ways: Memorials
and Gifts of Honor
Commemorate the life of a loved one or observe a special event.
Family members or the person honored by your contribution receive
acknowledgment of your thoughtful gesture. All contributions support
the Friends of Hospice fund and may be designated for use in a specific
