| "You
matter to the last moment of your life and we will do all we can
... to help you live until you die." - Dr. Cicely Saunders What
is Hospice?
Hospice
is a special kind of care for people and families living with a
life threatening illness. Hospice
care is focused on comfort rather than cure. Hospice provides physical,
psychological, social and spiritual care to patients and their families. Hospice
homecare is provided on a part time, intermittent, regularly scheduled
basis. Also a nurse and physician are available on call 24 hours/day,
7 days/week to provide advice and support and make visits as necessary. Admission
to a Hospice program is based on patient and family need and consent. |
