| Volunteers
are the Heart of Hospice
Volunteers are carefully screened and provided with extensive initial
training and formal ongoing education and support. Through
the volunteer training program, volunteers learn the meaning of
hospice care. They acquire knowledge of various aspects of death,
dying, and grief as well as developing their listening skills. Volunteers
provide vital non-medical services necessary for optimal care in
the final stages of life. Volunteers
offer a special ingredient: themselves.
