Parent Aides will provide in home paraprofessional services to parents
for support and education in the following areas:
- Discipline
Methods
- Stress
Management
- Child
Development
- Nutrition
- Home
Management
- Parent-Child
Relationships

Goals
of Parent Aide Services?
- To
strengthen parenting skills
- To
show the developmental stages of children
- To
assist in preventing or reducing abusive or neglectful behavior
towards children
- To
assist families in finding available resources
- To
assist in stabilizing the home during or following periods of
crisis
- To
maximize the opportunity for children to remain in their homes
The
Role of Parents who Participate is to:
- Be
available for weekly meetings (about 1 hour per week)
- Communicate
and work with the Parent Aide
- Be
willing to try the ideas presented by the Parent Aide
Parent
Aide Services are:
- Voluntary
- Free
- Confidential
Available
to families who have children under the age of 18 and who live in
the following towns: Berlin, Farmington, Kensington, New Britain,
Newington, Plainville, Southington, Unionville, West Hartford. Funded
by the Department of Children and Families
